Most effective weight loss programs for weight loss in 2015
Following your weight-loss promises this New Year may be a bit easier if you select a diet that best fits your lifestyle. U.S. News and World Report is out with its every-year list of the greatest effective weight loss programs. The magazine asked a panel of wellness experts and ranked 35 diets, based on some guidelines. The diet has to be quite simple to follow, nutritious, harmless, efficient for slimming down and protective against diabetes and heart disease. Here’s U.S. News’ ranking of the top five diets for slimming down, when shedding fat fast and keeping it off are your main targets.
Weight Watchers, the best of the most effective weight loss programs
This diet got 3.8 out of 5 stars from the panel of experts for slimming. Weight Watchers’ claim is that you can lose up to two pounds a week using their PointsPlus software and collective support. This isn’t about counting calories; the key to losing weight on this diet is selecting nutritionally rich foods that have an appropriate ratio of fiber, fat, protein and carbs. Fresh fruits and
veggies are highly welcomed and have no points at all. So people can eat these foods in any amounts. Candy bars and processed foods have more points and allowed in little quantities.
Professionals approve this diet’s usefulness in the long term. In an analysis of more than 600 Weight Watchers participants, scientists discovered that approximately 60 percent remained within 5 pounds of their target weight one year after finishing the program. It was according to a research published in the British Journal of Nutrition in 2008. Another research demonstrated that the more Weight Watchers dieters used the program’s different support instruments including gatherings, a cellphone app and internet tools – the more pounds they lost.
HMR Diet
The Health Management Resources program differs from other effective weight loss programs. Because it’s not only a diet, it’s a lifestyle. The theory: reducing caloric consumption and raising physical activity and personal accountability will help people slim down and keep the excess weight off. This program consists of two stages. Phase One, the Quick Start phase, goes on about three weeks and helps kick-start fat loss with meal replacements. For example, low-calorie smoothies, food, nutrition bars and multigrain hot cereal that the program brings right to your house.
Once achieving their target weight, dieters move on to Phase Two. This is the maintenance stage in which a person starts to incorporate other wholesome meal options into their HMR meal replacements. Phase Two also concentrates on more lifestyle tweaks and contains weekly telephone coaching sessions with diet pros and workout physiologists. The greatest advantage of this method is convenience. HMR meal replacements save much time at the food store.
The Biggest Loser Diet
Based on a series of books and inspired by success stories from the famous TV series, this effective weight loss program brings six weeks of wholesome food and regular workouts to promote slimming down and help prevent disease. The basics: consume many fruits and veggies, select lean protein sources and not red meat. Also lead a food diary and get some workouts. This diet doesn’t banish any food categories and should be quite easy to follow for a long time, dietitians say. And, unlike contestants on the TV show, you won’t have to follow a harsh workout routine. People who select this approach and lifestyle are welcomed to get at least two and a half hours of medium-intensity workouts per week (such as walking or jogging), along with a couple of days of muscle-strengthening exercises.
Jenny Craig Diet
A lot like Weight Watchers, the Jenny Craig Diet claims its followers are going to shed up to two pounds every week by sticking to a strict calorie diet. Prepackaged meals restrict calories, fat and portions and allow you to satisfy your sweet tooth without worrying about overindulging. This strategy also has weekly supportive coaching sessions to help participants through their slimming journeys right from the beginning. So, if you want convenience and need to be held accountable, Jenny Craig could be a great variant. One disadvantage with prepackaged meals: eating out can be hard. While Jenny allows for an occasional cafe meal, participants have to know eating out rules and be able to self-regulate.
The Raw Food Diet
This fashionable diet attracts those who want to lose some kilos, improve their wellness and support the environment. This strategy, one of the most effective excess weight loss programs, depends heavily on fruits and vegetables. It totally banishes any food that has been cooked, processed, microwaved, irradiated, genetically engineered or exposed to pesticides or herbicides. Dietitians say this program almost guarantees fat loss. Because most people who do it get only half the calories they would consume on a diet with cooked and processed foods. Disadvantage of this strategy: it can be costly, time consuming and restricting. To make a difference of raw food recipes, participants are encouraged to buy a juicer, dehydrator and a blender. Buying and preparing raw meals can take much time and most cafes don’t have many variants for raw foodists.
